Dear BWD Folks,
The quartzite Folsom point which is currently posted on the website looks conspicuously like one discovered along the South Bank in 1986. The specimen in question appears in Boldurian’s (1990; pp70-71, Figure 38A) Plains Anthropologist Memoir 24 on Lithic Technology at the Mitchell Locality of Blackwater Draw. Though not 100% certain due to the slight graininess of the posted photo, I thought I’d make mention. Thanks for your great website!
Right you are! The data was from a different artifact entirely. Thanks for catching the mistake. You are peculiarly suited to catch that particular point as it is one you found, analyzed, and published. Thanks again for viewing the blog. Any contributions you can suggest are welcome.
