This is the raw photo. It will undergo some cleanup via PhotoShop and we hope will become a postcard.
If you do a cleanup in Photoshop, I would appreciate your posting a before and after and perhaps some detail on the alteration. Perhaps a bit too specific for the blog, but I would be interested in your process.
That’s a good suggestion Robert. I won’t be doing it myself as it is being done by a graphic designer at the university. The main plan is to edit each artifact separately to get color and contrast right, then darken out the background. I, like so many others in this field, have struggled with artifact photography for decades now. There is more to it than meets the eye, so to speak.
