This is not the most beautiful Clovis point in the world but hey, it came from a mammoth kill site and is still in one piece.

Its quite an accomplishment to find a piece of a Clovis here in central Missouri. Much less a whole one. Then the fact that it was found with mamouth remains! How great is that! I find it to be beautiful! Looks like its made out of hixton or we call it shugar quartz here.
What material is it?
It’s a white quartzite. Very similar feel to Hixton but with a slightly finer grain. Very tough stuff.
I found a very patinated Clovis point in Silver Fork Creek, Boone County. Foolishly, I left it on the bank and wanted to come back to scour the area but the creek flooded and I never found it again!
